Vreau si eu 50%
Profesorii vor primi o marire de 50%. Slava Domnului, daca tot predau in sali de clasa decente si au carti din care sa-mi invete copiii. Gata cu meditatiile private. Toti vor munci la un nivel mai ridicat iar elevii vor beneficia de o educatie mai buna. Daca lucrurile ar fi atat de simple, sa-mi dea si mie cineva, incepand de maine, o marire de 50% si editorialele astea va vor face ziua cu 50% mai buna. Garantat!
Politica si politicienii nostri sunt vai de capul lor. Nu ii alegem ca sa serveasca anumite comunitati si sa cheltuiasca banii nostri ai tuturor pe cei care le vor aduce cele mai multe voturi, cele mai multe fonduri pentru campanii sau pe cei care intamplator sunt cei mai zgomotosi din ziua respectiva. Dar e vreodata justificata o marire de 50%? Cati dintre voi ati primit o astfel de marire? Cati dintre voi ati urcat atat de mult in structura unei companii incat sa fi primit o marire de 50%?
Pretul platit pentru marirea salariilor profesorilor nu ar trebui sa fie falimentarea fondurilor tarii sau reducerea investitiilor in infrastructura educationala (scoli, calculatoare, carti, etc.). Profesorii ar trebui sa primeasca 15-20% in plus in fiecare an pentru urmatorii 3-5 ani. Aceste mariri continue ar trebui sa fie strict legate de performantele profesorilor si evolutia rezultatelor elevilor. Acest cadou financiar facut dintr-un gest politic stupid nu va conduce decat la un singur lucru: mai multe categorii de bugetari vor astepta aceeasi generozitate din partea politicienilor. De fapt, deja au inceput.
Toata lumea se plange de calitatea sistemului adminstrativ public si de functionarii sai. Prin urmare, guvernul le ofera mai multi bani pentru aceleasi servicii si performante proaste. Cand vor invata oare oamenii ca vor fi platiti pe masura efortului sau calitatii oferite si nu pentru mana lor intinsa? Asta se numeste cersetorie, nu munca.

50% Salary increase for me too, please
Teachers are going to get 50% more pay. Thank god, as long as they have decent school rooms and books from which to teach my children. No more private tutoring for extra pay. Everyone will work to higher standard of excellence and all students will benefit from better education. If it were that simple, please, someone pay me 50% more and these editorials would enlighten and cheer your day 50% more, guaranteed!
Our politics and politicians are crap. They are not elected directly to serve specific communities, and thus spend our money with whoever offers them the most votes, the most campaign funds, or happens to be the noisiest public problem of the day. I agree teachers need to be paid more. But is a one time 50% pay increase ever justified? How many of you have gotten a 50% raise? How many of you have jumped so high in the ranks of your company or your profession that you got a 50% raise???
The price of paying teachers more should not be bankrupting the country’s finances, or forcing less investment in educational infrastructure (school buildings, computers, books, etc.). Teachers should be paid 15-20% more each year over the next 3-5 years. These continuing pay increases should be strictly tied to teacher performance and student test result improvements. Handing out that kind of money in a stupid political gesture is only going to lead to one thing, more public sector employees expecting the same misplaced (and unaffordable) generosity of the political masters. In fact, it has started already.
The public complains about the quality the public administration’s systems and personnel. So, the government gives them more money to make them smile more as they provide the same poor levels of services and performance. When will people learn that their pay should be equal to the value they create not the strength and reach of their outstretched political hand. That’s begging not earning.
